Just Right

When the power of skilled and loving touch meets the membrane of another human body, a mysterious alchemy happens that organizes that body into greater cohesion and alignment. Tension that was oppressive becomes dynamic. And a person feels, resulting from that touch, more resilient and grounded.

Most of us have had intense experiences – many of which can fall into the realm of PTSDs (post-traumatic stress disorders). The Power of Touch is the remedy for these challenges because it has the power to evoke and transmute oppressive tension into dynamic tension.

There are many modalities and techniques in the tactile repertoire of massage therapy and hands on healing approaches that alchemize tension. Some traditions focus on the energy body while others focus on the neuro-musculature. Regardless of the system, all healing arts are aimed at achieving a here-and-now presence that is balanced and harmonious.

When we are balanced and harmonious, we notice that our personal and professional relationships go smoothly. Essentially, the power of touch invites our edges into the middle ground of our being – the Goldilocks Zone — where our life experience does not feel too much or too little but Just Right.

In future columns, we will explore the realm of “Just Right” in terms that explain the relationship between gravity and consciousness and the art of living with gratitude and aliveness.
Happy Thanksgiving~

Note from Michele Boudreaux, owner of Corporate Soul
My journey as a massage therapist, and subsequent owner of Corporate Soul, started several decades ago with the man I am about to introduce to you on this blog. His name is Fred Mitouer and he was and still is a friend and mentor to me. He has awakened and healed so many on this journey we call life, which all of us know can be very challenging on many levels. My hope is to allow you the reader an opportunity to be enriched for a few minutes a month while reading his words, which in my experience, always manages to take you a little deeper into your own somatic awareness. Until later…
